Hello all! There has been a lot going on with development lately and so I wanted to create a list of all the upcoming changes with the project and go over some critical milestones that should be tackled over the coming weeks.

  1. Elementyle is being migrated to Steam
    • This is a big change and there are a lot of steps to make this happen. Ensuring a smooth transition for the client is currently top priority.
    • This change is likely to occur ahead of the server-side update.
    • For the first 30-60 days, Elementyle will be free to add to your Steam library forever. Once this initial period is over, the game will enter a graduated pricing model as the development continues.
  2. The server rework has made major progress
    • The move engine and game logic are currently being tested side by side and it is likely in the next few weeks the production server will be updated with the new logic.
    • Progress on this is being streamed live on YouTube.
  3. The Official Elementyle Discord is under way
    • Keep an eye out for the next couple weeks as a Discord link will be posted on all major platforms include the social bar on this site.
  4. Monthly DevLogs Return
    • With the rework of the server logic, there hasn’t been much in the way of DevLogs the past few months. That should be changing soon with a sneak peek at the initial concepts for the Earth set as well as some new pieces to be released later this year.
  5. Livestream Schedule Now Set
    • Developer livestreams are now going to be hosted on YouTube Tuesday-Thursday @ 10PM CST every week.
    • Come join the livestreams and subscribe to the YouTube channel for the newest updates and notifications for new content to come.
  6. First Customization Option Sneak Peek
    • To commemorate the move to Steam, all accounts that log in with Steam during the initial alpha phase (start date to be determined) will receive an Alpha Tester Badge that can be displayed in-game next to the players name during matches.
    • Once the launch on Steam is complete, three tiers of Alpha Contributor Badge will be added: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. These badges will be purchasable from the Steam Store and will be a way for users to contribute to development during Alpha testing.
    • More unique badges with special unlock requirements will be added in future updates.

While this list certainly isn’t exhaustive, there is a lot coming in the next few weeks that should get checked off this list gradually. The DevLog for the Earth set should be released by June 20th. For more information or any questions please feel free to comment below, join the livestream on YouTube, or email pr@elementyle.com.
