With 2024 winding to a close, a few key updates are in order as the year is wrapped up. It’s been a while since the last post, and a lot of that was just a necessary break, however there are a number of changes and updates being worked on.
First and foremost, new content is being worked on for videos to be uploaded soon. This includes development vlogs, game-play overviews, game commentary, and general updates as new features and systems are developed. A regular upload schedule will be established in the coming weeks with initial focus on developer vlogs.
In terms of game related updates, the #1 priority for development now is set completion. Getting the core pieces added to the game and ready for testing is important, but a number of systems need to be cleaned up, reworked, or redesigned in some places. A few of the upcoming game changes include:
- All pieces released and playable.
- Each set will have 6 basic, 2 ultimate, and 1 signature pieces for a total of 36 unique pieces.
- Client replays and server-side replay management.
- Runtime data updates.
- All piece data excluding media will be standardized on the server and clients will validate against server versioning regularly to fetch updates.
- Player progression systems.
- Leveling for player profiles, sets, and possibly pieces.
- Controller Support.
- Some major client reworks are under way to make controller support easier and more consistent.
There is still a long way to go and the unplanned break definitely hindered the anticipated feature roll-outs for the end of 2024. As development continues into 2025, core game play systems will be at top of the priority list. The most important aspect of the game currently is functionality.
More information will be coming soon regarding video release schedule. Thank you for your time and I look forward to continuing this project.
