Below are the current changes coming to Elementyle in update 0.2.1. Private testing will conclude either November 17th or November 18th with the update being pushed the following day.
Gameplay Changes
- Set Tier has been replaced with Play Group
- Signature pieces are now baseline in all matches.
- All pieces are available at all times in all matches.
- Play Groups determine what kind of opponents you play against
- vs Player (PvP): Player opponents only
- vs Computer (PvE): Computer opponents only
- Mixed (PvP + PvE): Can play either player or computer opponents.
- Stats for each element and each Play Group are tracked separately.
Profile Screen Release
- Introducing the Player Profile menu – this long unimplemented feature is now available to display Set Info and stats for all elements and play groups.
- You can now see exactly how many times each piece has been played, with totals per set
- The set you’re using is automatically selected when opening the Profile
- Match History tab is temporarily disabled (will release in a future update)
- Achievements tab is temporarily disabled (will release in a future update)
Settings Now Save Properly
- Your chosen Play Group, ELO Range, and Active Set are saved and remembered between sessions
- These preferences stay even after closing the game or updating from the server
Statistics Improvements
- The following stats are being tracked for each match:
- Piece captures
- Moves and tiles claimed per turn
- Effects used (Advance, Breaker, Hold, Fortify, Awaken, Flow, etc.)
- Match length in turns and pieces played
- Win and loss streaks are tracking correctly
- Signature pieces do not count toward total pieces played
- Average stats (moves per turn, tiles per turn, captures, etc.) are now calculated properly
- ELO rating changes are now calculating correctly
- The ELO Range function will limit your available play pool based on your preference.
- The computer opponent is currently always set to 1400 ELO.
Gameplay Fixes
- Slipstream tiles from Supercell now last their full duration
- Tile effects created during Awaken now work as intended on the same turn
Other Improvements
- Play Menu layout is more stable when selecting PvE or different play groups
- Stats shown in the main menu update correctly after a reset
- Overall game stability and performance have been improved
